Tara and Sam flew in from Denver with boots in tow to lock up their love with friends, family, joyous elation and a marriage license at Amelita Mirolo Barn. The outdoors unnerved them throughout the morning as marathoners blanketed the downtown streets — drenched with rain below, all the while overlooking from above in a warm & cozy room surrounded by their closest people. It was dicey out there. That’s for sure. To be honest, I was worried. I was worried about the weather, both for me and whatever limitations it may place on me but more importantly for Tara & Sam. I knew they were getting married outdoors and I knew that I didn’t want to disappoint in any possible way. So, as usual, I walked the streets beforehand and made my pre-start scout and planning under the realization that we may need to stay under the cover of dryness.

Things opened up.

The weather cleared.

Tara & Sam’s hearts shone, smiles bloomed and the muggy heat of an early morning downpour enveloped their families in unison and unity. The weather worked out (I worry about it errrrry wedding as I’m sure most couples do) and these two souls destroyed it. Love bombs all over, broken champagne flutes (by me, accidentally) and a start to a kickass marriage.

Soak it in — rain and all.
